WHO ARE THE CWIF COMPANIONS?
Our Companions are Our Partners. They financially support the Christian Women International Fellowship in the work of God on a monthly basis. The funds go towards office rentals, church rentals, seminars, trainings and workshops, outreaches, honorariums for invited Guest Speakers, staff salaries, payment to service providers, payment of hired equipment, acquisition of church equipment and property, philanthropic work as well as other day to day costs. These funds are managed by a trusted, qualified and competent Administration Team.
We have the Joannas and the Josephs. Our Joannas are the female companions and our Josephs are the males that partner with us financially. Some are there on the forefront and others choose to be in the background supporting this vision. God uses them to propagate His Gospel by giving towards His work.
JOANNA
In the gospels, Joanna is shown as the wife of Chuza, steward to Herod Antipas. She is listed as one of the women who were delivered from evil spirits and healed from infirmities. She selflessly and wholeheartedly accompanied Jesus and the Apostles whenever they went about doing God's work. She sacrificially provided for them from her own means and substance. (Luke 8:1–3)
JOSEPH OF ARIMATHEA
Joseph of Arimathea was a prominent Jewish leader (Mark 15 vs 42-47). He was undoubtedly a well-known public figure and a respectable man. He was a secret and astute follower of Jesus. He did not permit his prominence to get in the way from eventually showing his full support for Jesus after His death. His riches also didn’t restrict his character, personality and devotion as can be seen in how he and Nicodemus treated Jesus after His death. Not only did Joseph of Arimathea boldly ask for Jesus’ body from Pilate, but he also took Jesus down from the cross, lovingly and carefully wrapped His body in linen and buried him on the land he had given (donated) for Jesus' burial. Joseph wished to prevent the body from hanging on the cross overnight and to secure for it a befitting and honourable burial. All this opposed and offended the Jewish law, which only permitted a disgraceful burial to the crucified.
